Stevia extract (sweetener)

How does it work?

Stevia is a South American plant where the leaf is used as a natural non-caloric sweetener.1 The natural sweeteners in stevia include a range of diterpene glycosides and have been measured to be between 30 and 320 times sweeter than sugar.2 Stevia is used in the natural health and food industry as a sugar and artificial sweetener substitute, finding its way into wellbeing, weight loss and bodybuilding products or supplements.3 Limited research has shown stevia may assist with diabetes, high blood pressure, heartburn and increasing heart muscle contractions.4

What results can be expected?

Stevia is a safe and non-caloric natural sweetener, and is an healthy alternative to sugar and artificial sweeteners, especially those on restricted diets or weight loss programs.5
