How does it work?

L-alanine is a non-essential amino acid synthesised by muscle cells from lactic acid and is used for its role in the production of glucose and blood sugar regulation.1 L-alanine assists in the metabolism of glucose to be used as energy as well as assisting in preventing the build up of toxic substances released with aerobic exercise.2 These actions have led to the use of L-alanine to assist in preventing and treating hypoglycaemia from insulin dependant diabetes or intensive exercise training regimes, which can also help the body obtain more energy to perform longer at increased levels of intensity and promote muscle mass.3

What results can be expected?

L-alanine may assist in preventing and treating low blood sugar levels in those with insulin dependant diabetes or those performing intensive exercise training regimes.4
