Fish Oil (Omega 3 fatty acids)


How does it work?

Fish oil contains high levels of omega 3 polyunsaturated fatty acids, an essential nutrient, which form the ‘active’ fatty acids – EPA and DHA.1 Extensive research has shown these two fatty acids provide many positive physiological effects on inflammation, immune function, blood chemistry and muscle contraction.2 Omega 3 fatty acids are found in high amounts in brain and cardiovascular tissue and compete with arachadonic acid (involved in inflammation) hence why fish oils have shown to provide anti-inflammatory, antithrombotic, antiplatelet and neuroprotective activity.3

What results can be expected?

Fish oils have shown to improve symptoms in cardiovascular disease such as reduce blood pressure and lipid profiles; improve symptoms and outcome experienced in those with depression, dementia, alzheimer’s disease, bipolar disorder and autism; and reduce inflammation in any inflammatory condition such as asthma, eczema, atopic dermatitis, arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and auto-immune disease.4
