Agmatine Sulfate (Agmatine)


How does it work?

Agmatine, chemically known as 4-(aminobutyl)guanidine, is a derivative of arginine decarboxlyation which has shown to stimulate nitric oxide production through the inhibition of nitric oxide synthase (NOS).1 Agmatine is also considered to be a neurotransmitter, neuromodulator and can enhance insulin production, and has been used in the treatment of neuropathic pain, addiction and improving blood glucose levels, respectively.2 Through NOS inhibition, increased nitric oxide levels leads to oxygen and nutrient delivery to muscle tissues through vasodilatory effects, therefore enhancing exercise performance and recovery.3

What results can be expected?

Agmatine may enhance exercise performance and recovery through a variety of pathways including NOS inhibition, vasodilation, increased oxygen and nutrient delivery, enhancing insulin production and reducing pain.4 Other uses of agmatine include reducing neuropathic pain and aiding in the treatment of drug addiction.5
